Competence 18 Application of leadership & teamworking skills

The objective is to be familiar and apply effective leadership and teamwork skills in a maritime context. Learners will develop the competence to lead and motivate diverse crews, foster collaboration, and manage team dynamics under various operational conditions. This includes understanding the principles of leadership, communication and conflict resolution, as well as the ability to work cohesively in multi-cultural teams to ensure the safety and efficiency of ship operations.

By the end of this lesson, learners will be able to:

• Demonstrate effective leadership in both routine and emergency situations on board.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring clear communication and mutual respect among crew members.
