The Plan shall consist at least of:
- the procedure to be followed by the master or other persons having charge of the ship to report an oil pollution incident
- the list of authorities or persons to be contacted in the event of an oil pollution incident
- a detailed description of the action to be taken immediately by persons on board to reduce or control the discharge of oil following the incident; and
- the procedures and point of contact on the ship for coordinating shipboard activities with national and local authorities in combating pollution.
Prevention of Oil Spills During Bunkering Operations
- Watchman during bunkering operations
- Securing and certified hoses
- Checking the bunkering area
- Flag if required
- Oil spill response equipment nearby, SOPEP kit, drip tray
- Setting in scupper plugs
- Focus! Monitor tank sounding system during unloading and bilging
- Establish communication

- Conducting cargo operations, tank washing, and ballasting in a manner that minimizes the risk of spills and discharges.
Waste Management Plans:
- Developing and adhering to comprehensive waste management plans, including proper segregation, treatment, and disposal of waste.
Emission Control Technologies:
- Utilizing technologies such as scrubbers, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, and low-sulfur fuels to reduce air emissions.
